Flaming Skull Nebula

The appropriately named Flaming Skull Nebula is located in the Serpens Constellation. The unusual shape of this emission nebula is due to the white dwarf racing through space leaving a trail of gas in its wake.

The blue, white dwarf star can be seen in the center of the blue oxygen region. Happy travels!

Notes:  This is the first outing after having cleaned the oil residue from my ZWO 2600mm sensor. Relatively easy fix with the right supplies. RGB was taken for the stars and HO for the nebulosity.

Thanks, Eddie
